Ubin Trip with the girls

ok, so last wed we had a trip to ubin. it was fun fun fun cos of the funny funny things that happened. what with the ghost sightings, me ended up pushing my bike instead of riding it, yatie neary crashed her bike because of a butterfly, kamy being scared of cats but wanting to catch butterflies and grasshoppers, las crashing into trees two or three times and photographer-of-the-day Debby taking shots of us in crappy positions/expressions.
we, except yatie, had breakfast at changi first and all of us ended up having nasi emak. yatie claimed she had a tummy ache so she didn't want to eat, but i know she secrety want to lose weight so that she'll be the skinny one and i'll be fat one, seeing the tonnes of weight i'm putting on now. we then took the boat to that little island. we then took almost half an hour primping and photo-taking in the toilet. wat to say, girls will be girls. (note what debby's version of getting ready is in the last pic)

finally we got our bikes and started riding it. as you know, i have a thing for slopes, so rather than risking my life, i decided to push my bike down the slopes. at the expense of them laughing at me. but, don't say i'm hopeless ok, i overcame my fear of slopes cos at the later part of the day when we cycled at another route/area, i didn't care whether the slope was steep or whatever, i just rode my bike all the way because i didn't want to be left behind from the pack. the place just didn't feel right. haha.

while waiting for me, they even had time to take photos

when we reached chek jawa, with the sun was shining very very brightly the scenery was so beautiful. and the jetty became a runway for us girls.

we took a rest at chek jawa and this is where kamy wouldn't stop teasing me cos i was eating las' biscuits non-stop. i was hungry ok!

we walked back to where we parked our bikes, cycled a bit more than we took a rest at one of the shops. there we saw a talking parrot who kept saying "ni hao mah"

it was about 4 o'clock so we decided to cycle some more and this time, we took a different route. i could say that this route had a different feeling about it. it was quiet and kamy and yatie said they felt as if someone was always watching or following us.

we were cycling when we saw a supposedly drinks shop that was closed. i fooled around a bit and took some pictures, then me and kamy decided to walk up to some sort of a jetty cos there was water below it. there was a small "hut" or smth and i realised it was those olden toilets. you know last time when people lived in kampongs, they had their toilets made of metal doors outside? yup, that was it.

just at that moment, the door suddenly opened by itself and stayed that way.. a few seconds later, it closed by itself. there was no wind whatsoever i tell you. even of there was, the wind wasn't strong enough to hold open the door. it was as if someone from inside opened and took a look outside. without saying anything, we ran off and got on our bikes and scrambled out of that place.

at the end of the day, when returning our bikes, me, kamy and las wanted to see what this thing called "datuk keramat" was. but lucky, we didn't climb up to see it. who knows what awaits up there on the hill.

all in all, it was a great trip, though i got sunburned and now i can be mistaken for a nigerian cos of my very tanned skin.

there are loads more pics on facebook, so go check it out to see what we actually did the whole day..
