hey hey hey, just a little update with what i was up to over the weekend.
we had a friendly game against Nee Soon East CC girls, and yes! we won! like finally. score was 1-0. it was so good to see the whole team fighting for each other and sticking it out for the whole match without conceding any goals although tempers flared among some of us during the game, but it's all on field.. off-field, everything should be cool. if you're wondering, the goal was scored by yours truly hehe. but i must admit that it wasn't so fantastic or anything. we had a corner taken by jamie then when she crossed in the ball, there was a bit of deflection or whatever, then i realise i had the ball at my feet.. i looked up, the goal post was in front of me, i kicked the ball and next thing i know, everybody was watching the ball roll into the net haha.. oh wells, a goal is a goal.
2nd half, they put in some of their best players and we had to defend more but we did have a quite a few attacking chances but sadly, the strikers couldn't finish it. anyway, kudos to michelle, our star goalie and brenda. it was a first real game for them and they did very well. now, i'm looking forward to play more games with you girls :)
while SIM won 1-0, the same couldn't be said with our National Soccer Team. They lost to Vietnam in the semi-finals of the Suzuki Cup. I went to National Stadium to catch the game with my brother and his friends. Being boys, they were shouting really really loud and were very rowdy till the some of the surrounding ppl gave us funny funny stares. But we didn't care because if you don't wanna shout or get in the mood of things, what's the point of coming down to the stadium? just go back and watch it on tv la. we all screamed and cheered and whatever till our throat hurts but alas, a singapore-thailand final wasn't meant to be. i'm not really a fan of local football except for players like Noh Alam Shah & Lionel Lewis but once you were at the stadium, surrounded by a sea of red, you can't help but join in the madness.
